1989 Club founded by the late Brendan Carney along with Brendan Byrnes, Pat Cowell, Jan Van der Zee, Pat Sexton, Paul Cowell (R I P) and Tom Broderick

1989 Oranmore played their first competitive game against Corofin United on Saturday September 9th 1989 in the Olympic Sports Third Division. The season saw Oranmore finish strongly to secure a place second from bottom.

1991 Oranmore lift their first piece of silverware when Graham Martin accepts the Third Division Cup.

1994/95 Oranmore finally achieve promotion into the Second Division.

1996/97 Oranmore once again achieve promotion finishing second to West Coast United but the season will mainly be remembered for a historic run in the FAI Junior Cup reaching the last 64 in the country being beaten on penalties by Rattoo Rovers the Munster Champions.

2006/2007 The Club finally achieve a long held ambition when securing promotion to the Galway and District League Premier Division under the Management Team of Murt Fahy and Ollie Neary.

Oranmore enter an U16 team managed by Pete Campion and Mike Jacobs and an U18 team managed by Bryan Mannion and Mike Hickey in to the league.

People that have made a great contribution to this club include previous Managers, Brendan Carney, Gerry Burke, Joe Shields, Graham Martin, Rob Duffy, Brendan Byrnes, Dermott Finn, Ollie Mullins, Bernard Carr, Liam Walsh, Sonny McHugh, Alan Eastwood, Paddy O`Connor and the current team of Murt Fahy with coach Ollie Neary.

Other valuable contributors down the years include Barry McDermott and Pat Costello who managed the team that lifted the Reserve League Title in 2006.

Martin Mannion, Tom Broderick, Richard Monahan, Paddy Latchford are others that gave major input in to the club.

Founder members that are still with the club are Bernie Carr who is the current Chairman. Rob Duffy, Pete Campion and Karl Zimmerer still display their considerable talents in the reserve league.

Each year in May the Club host an invitational tournament to remember the late Brendan Carney who died tragically in 1996. Those who organise the tournament include Alan Eastwood, Ollie Flanagan, Mick Cahalan, Eoin Pender and the Carney Family.

Oranmore Soccer Club greatly the appreciates the support we have received from the local community over the last twenty years and we hope that this support and goodwill will continue in the future.
