Oranmore FC was founded in 1989 by the late Brendan Carney (RIP) and Brendan Byrnes with the emphasis being on providing a club for the community. From humble beginnings of 16 members the club has grown to currently boast 60 members playing at both junior and under 18 levels.

2008 finally saw promotion to the Premier League after 20 years of playing football in the Galway and District league, none of which would have been possible without the support of local business', the OCDA and their provision of playing facilities and the numerous players and supporters who have made this possible.
